My name is Dennis Wetzig and I am entrepreneur by conviction. I have been involved with internet and mobile businesses since ’97. Parallel to high-school I worked for mediaWays/Telefonica and Lycos as a software developer. At Lycos I got engaged with mobile messaging and payment technologies and realized at that time there was no powerful software available to build large-scale applications in that field. I founded my first company eViato Mobile Messaging Technologies right after high-school to develop that software I was missing. Later I joined the team of one of my bigger customers at that time, MindMatics, as a Technical Director and helped develop further the companies mobile messaging and payment system that was based on eViato’s software. At MindMatics I was involved in the creation of pretty cool high-volume mobile messaging and payment apps, e.g. the world’s biggest interactive TV voting carried out in 34 countries in parallel.
Today I am the co-founder of PIXRAY, a Berlin/Potsdam based company that creates an amazing application for image tracking on the web. At PIXRAY my main responsibilities are sales and operations. We have a great team in the order of fifteen people and enjoy our work big time. Besides I have my company eViato as a mere holding.
I am a mentor in Deutsche Telekom’s hub:raum incubator program. I lecture on lean startup and business model canvas and business modelling at the Center for Digital Technology and Management at TU and LMU in Munich and as part of General Assembly’s program in Berlin.
I am a seed investor at Wummelkiste.
I live in Munich and Berlin-Mitte.
